The department of Microbiology & Biotechnology has organised a State level Students’Seminar on “Perspectives of Modern Science”. Dr.A.Usha Raja Nanthini, AssociateProfessor, Department of Biotechnology, Mother Theresa Women’s University Kodaikanal acted as the resource person for the seminar. 161 students and 14 staff members participated in the seminar on 21.02.2014.
Department of Microbiology, Department of English & Eco club in collaboration with“The Hard Rain Project UK” conducted exhibition on “Nature & Future”. About 1144 school and college students from Ramnad district has been participated from 24.02.2017 to 27.02.2017.
Valedictory function was conducted for the competition “A single page will change”in association with “Nature & Future” exhibition conducted by the Department of Microbiology, Department of English & Eco club in collaboration with “The Hard Rain Project UK”. 3 Globeawards has been awarded to VI-VIII, IX-XI and College category on 27.02.2017.
Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology provided Rs.1,00,000 for conducting 5 days workshop in rural areas in and around Ramanathapuram District. 20 students from the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology were participated on the training programme on “Value Addition of Food Products Palm sugar and Palm candy” conducted on 23.09.17. Dr S Sumayaa, Principal & Head, Department of Home Science and Research Centre, TBAKC, Kilakarai and Ms Samyuktha Devi, Traditional Chef acted as resource person.
Training Programme on “Ornamental Fish Culture” conducted on 25.09.17. 70 rural peoples from Ramanathapuram District were participated. Dr R Jeyakumar, Senior Scientist, CMFRI and Dr S Johnson, Scientist, CMFRI, Mandapam acted as resource person.
Training Programme on “Seaweed Cultivation” conducted on 26.09.17. 70 rural peoples from Ramanathapuram District were participated. Dr M Ganesan, Scientist, CSMCRI MARS, Mandapam Camp was invited as resource person.
Training Programme on “Organic Farming” conducted on 27.09.17. 71 rural peoples from Ramanathapuram District were participated. R Murugesan, Chairman & Chief Functionary, DARE Foundation Etivayal, Ramanathapuram.
Training Programme on “Mushroom Cultivation” conducted on 28.09.17. 78 rural peoples from Ramanathapuram District were participated. Mr.K.Arul Thomas, director SKT agro food Pvt.ltd, Sivagangai.
Organized two days training Programme “Spring Fest” on 04/10/2018 and 05/10/2018. 72 students participated Dr C Prashantha, Certified Mentor, IIT KGP acted as mentor Top 5 students were certified with merit certificates.
