Internal Quality Assurance Cell

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is the quality assurance mechanism of the college.. It is a facilitative and participatory organ of the institution. Maintaining the momentum of quality consciousness is crucial for the Internal Quality Assurance Cell. It is conceived as a mechanism to build and ensure quality in the institution. It has a specific structure and works with enough flexibility to meet the diverse needs of the stakeholders. The IQAC is meant for planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities of the institution. It channelizes and systematizes the efforts and measures of the institution towards academic excellence. It is the driving force for ushering in quality by working out intervention strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality.

FUNCTIONS OF THE IQAC

  • Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for quality-related activities
  • Promotion of all quality circles of the college
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institution
  • Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education
  • Organization of workshops/seminars/Conference on quality related themes
  • Documentation of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC
  • Collecting feedback from students on all activities of college
  • Conducting External Expert and Student Appraisal of Staff on teaching and student support
  • Collecting Feedback from all stake holders such as Parents and Alumnae

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE IQAC

  • Organized orientation for the teaching faculty according to needs of their discipline at the beginning of every academic year
  • Conducted counselling for the freshers regarding choice of Programmes
  • Took efforts to strengthen the Placement Cell and arrange the job fair
  • Conducted one day workshops for Teaching faculty on preparing for re-accreditation
  • Monitored the centralization of the continuous internal assessment
  • Monitored departments in the allotment of wards to mentors
  • Helped departments to obtain feed-back from students
  • Updated and recorded information regarding research, seminar, conference, symposium, etc., and publications of faculty members.
  • Arranged exit meetings for outgoing students.
  • Consolidated the feedback forms and documents for implementation of recommendations.
  • Worked closely with the Steering Committee for NAAC Re-Accreditation.
