Ramanathapuram (TBAK College) Chapter of ELTAI and Thoothukudi (Annammal College of Education) Chapter of ELTAI in association with The British Council, Chennai organized the
two- day training programme on “Communicative Language Teaching” for the teachers who are teaching IX & X Std. in Govt. and Govt. Aided Schools. Ms Premilla Lowe, Teacher/Trainer, The British Council, Chennai was the resource person.
Fifteen students attended a One Day Workshop on “Photography” organized by Department of English, TBAK College at Al- Mumin Boys Home. Mr M Rajesh Kannan, Photographer, Vaanavil Digital Studio, Ramnad was the resource person.
The department of English organized Association Function, Utopia 2018. The programme was inaugurated by the Guest Honour, Dr S Mohamed Mumtaj Begum, Associate Professor of English, Avvaiyar Government College for Women, Karaikal. As a part of this inauguration a guest lecture on “How Does Literature Help in Character Formation” was arranged. The offstage events were conducted from 18.12.17 to 08.02.2018.
A One- day workshop was organized by the department of English on “Theory and Practice of Photography”. Twelve students from I MA and nine students from II MA English students attended .Mr. M. Kavinilavan, M. Tech in Film and Electronic Media Studies, Madurai Kamaraj University served as the resource person.
The Department of English in collaboration with the Crescent Learning in association with Cambridge Assessment English, UK organised a two – day workshop on “Train the Trainers” for twenty three faculty members and five Alumnae of the Department. Mrs. Uma Kalyanaraman, Regional Team Leader, Training for Cambridge assessment English was the Resource Person. The workshop was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. S. Sumayaa, TBAKC, Kilakarai. The valedictory address was delivered by Dr. Rahmathunisa Abdur Rahman, Correspondent, TBAKC, Kilakarai.
The department of English organised a one-day Workshop on “Photography and Videography”. Twenty three PG students from the department of English attended the workshop. Mr. Kavinilavan, M.Tech, Freelance Videographer served as the Resource Person.
A one-day Leadership Training Programme was organised by the department of English and Mathematics in association with Rotary club of Ramnad and fifty two students participated in it. The resource person was Rtn. S Ramkumar, HR and Soft Skills Trainer, KaiZen HR Consultancy. Rtn. ER. K. Gandhi, President of Rotary Club, Ramnad inaugurated the programme. Ms. A Raviyathul Athabia Haja M Jaindeen, Correspondent /Managing Trustee, MGR group of institutions, Uchipuli, Ramanathapuram was invited as the Chief Guest.
As a part of the Action Research Project on Reading sanctioned by ELTAI [February -August 2018], Review Seminar was organised by the Department of English and APJ Abdul Kalam Central Library.
The best three reviews were selected and prizes were given. A cash prize of Rs. 100 was given to four students for their questioning skill and bookmarks and pens were presented to all the members of the Reading Club. Eight students participated.
Three among them won cash prizes.
