Greetings from TBAKC family!
Welcome to TBAKC Website!
It is indeed a pleasure to share my thoughts with you all. Way back in 1988, nearly three decades ago, the soil of this coastal region was thriving for an opening to send their girl children for Higher Education, and no other College for Women was found in this region. A Philanthropist, Alhaj B.S. Abdur Rahman, the son of this soil, well-known for his benevolence realized the importance of girls’ education and took the noble decision to establish this college for Women Empowerment through Higher Education. Many a hurdle he had to face since many challenges were prevailing in this region against fulfilling his dreams. Drenched in his dreams, we have been reaping the yield of our founder’s far sighted vision since the transformation has been taking place in leaps and bounds in our girl students. Until now, more than 8000 graduates have spread their wings around the globe. Nearly 30-40% of the graduates are either employed or self-employed. They have become the driving force of change in their own family and society.
The College offers 14 Undergraduate Programmes in Arts, Humanities and Sciences, 9 Post Graduate Programmes and supports scholars through 5 Research Centres in Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Home Science and English under Alagappa University, Karaikudi. By the grace of the Almighty, we are stepping into the third decade to broaden our horizons in Higher Education.
The curricular aspects in arts, sciences and humanities disciplines have been designed to face the global challenges in employment and Entrepreneurship. The various Quality Circles of this institution nurture the innate potential of the TBAKians.
The holistic development of an individual could be achieved only through physical, mental and social well-being. This can be attained only through acquiring right kind of Value based Education to cope with the challenging world and TBAKC has worked its way up to be one among the few hundreds of institutions in India achieving Excellence in all the different dimensions of Women’s Education and Women Empowerment.
Wishing you all success in life!
